I have had nothing but problems getting anything done online with my card. Everytime I try to add money or check the account I have to change my password because it won't accept the one I set. At one time my account was locked and no one could tell my why. I am considering going back to my Wal-Mart card.

I called the customer service number for the Companion Card not knowing that it is a separate business from FTB, so I was advised to call FTB to find out if I would be charged the $5 transfer fee that I have been charged before for transferring funds. Each customer service rep I spoke with had an unprofessional attitude as if it is my privilege that they are employed there. I have had an account with FTB for more than 20 yrs and this is the reason I left and went to another bank before. I only wanted to get information, and you would think a company would want to help you use their product. I dont expect horrible customer service while you use MY money. I still did not get an answer that I could understand about using my checking account to fund this card. So now, should I drive to a branch just to get information because those in Customer Service are obviously incompetent? With all the complaints and the way I was treated it may more beneficial to just continue using GreenDot.

    Applying for a Companion Card

After 3 calls to my local branch and "customer service", I am once again disappointed by FTB. I have been a customer of FTB for 30 years and other than my FIRST AND ONLY LOAN for a vehicle, at age 19, from FTB by a wonderful lady named Barbara Lemley, I have never had a good experience from customer service. Since most of my banking is online and I DO enjoy the the many branches, I stayed at FTB. However, I simply wanted my Companion Card delivered to my PO BOX because I travel and don't like important items sitting in my home mail box. It seems that someone at FTB can't come to the rational thought that a PO BOX is more secure than a home mail box and have no clue how to set up an option to do what the CUSTOMER wants. I find it strange that my bank statements AND my new VISA DEBIT Cards DO come to my PO BOX, but this card CAN NOT be sent to it. Once again, as usual, no good reason or solution from customer service to this problem to go along with a few others in the past. Thank you FT

I got the card , hoping it would help me while I travel.Custmer service on the phone told I couldn't transfer money from my online account to this card,I would have to visit a branch office to have money put on my card, the site led me to believe different.I was also told there was a problem with the card , that I would have to visit a branch office to solve the problem , did that. The branch office gave number a number to call , called the number and was told to visit a branch office . I told the person on the phone I was sitting in a branch office and was told to call them . In the end I told them to keep the card and the 25$,not going to do the run around trying to get answer for the problem . Don't waste your time getting this card.

I read all of the reviews which weren't very good. I tried to order one and I am just having difficulty doing that. I would say at this point that this banking service is not customer friendly. I'm not sure if I recommend this or not. I will probably try again to order one. It would be great for my teens this summer.

Do not get a campanion card

I have gotten worse service on this product. I purchashed this card on Jan 10 and have not received it yet. It was a present for my granddaughter who is in college. I called to get the status and was told that they could not talk to me. I purchased the card, my social security card number was listed but was denied information. So do not purchase a campanion card because you will be disappointed. I am a long time customer with First Tenn but I may have to take my business elsewhere.

I'm the "spender" in the family, which makes budgeting difficult for my wife and I. With a limit that we specify through the funding, I'm better able to control my spending.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
