I recently opened an account that I am using for property management purposes on my rental properties in TN, I currently live full time in NY. I use several other banks who also have mobile deposit and have no problem depositing up to $2500 a day or a total of $5000.00 a month. I just went to use FTB's mobile deposit and find out it is limited to $250.00 per check and can take several days to have use of my funds. At my other banks there is a confirmation of deposit and access to partial funds either the same day or all funds by the next day. in this day & age of online banking and bill pay thru the Federal Reserve which is all electronic and virtually instantly, it is unacceptable to have this extremely poor level of service.I was going to open several more accounts for other properties I am purchasing plus trust accounts to hold securiety deposits for my tenents but will probably have to look elsewhere for my banking needs if this is any indication of future service.

This used to be a great feature with my college kids who are out of state - enabled them to deposit their paychecks by mobile deposit since they don't have a branch close by. Unfortuantely the policies have changed and it now can take 2-5 business days before the money post to their accounts where before it was posted the next day. Not sure there is any benefit to this feature now if the funds can't be available faster. My son depsoited a check on a Thursday before the 9pm deadline and it was not in his account the next day. Customer service told him about the change and it didn't show up in his account until the following Wednesday. He could have mailed me the check and I could have taken it to a branch quicker than using mobile deposit.

    View ALL mobile deposit images

I've been using the mobile app in an iPhone since it first came out and make deposits several times a week. It works perfectly as long as the light is good and the surface is dark. My question and grip is why I can I only view images from mobile deposits for a 30-day period -- and online they don't show either. Let me self-service my account rather than require me to take up your associates time by finding that information. The information is obviously there, just let me access.

No paycheck for Labor Day weekend

I love this app for depositing personal checks but for whatever reason, this app struggles depositing my employers checks. And when I called either help support number in my email, all I got was an answering machine. Thanks for screwing me out of my paycheck for the holiday weekend.

After the last update almost a year ago, the app still force closes at the splash screen. Well known problem and no fix. Been with First Tennessee almost 20 years and am now thinking of changing banks, especially since they closed the branch that was closest to me. Now its a 40 mile drive. So mobile banking was great.....till now.....FIX IT!!!!!

    Mobile Deposit is Unacceptable

Just tried mobile deposit and am very disappointed. Endorsed the check and took pictures of front & back of the check. Went through all the hoops only to get a message that the check could not be accepted because it was folded or had bent corners. WHAT? The check is in pristine condition, just came out of an envelope. Sad excuse for a service, FTB, you really missed the mark on this one.

    Unreliable!

When you deposit a check via mobile banking you can never be sure that teh check does not get rejected. Unfortunately, the bank does not tell you this right away, but you rathre find out about this the next day. That means that if you rely on this deposit for being able to pay your bills, then you bills will bounce and you will incur a large fee. I stopped using mobile banking ofr any checks above $500. It's crazy that FTN cannot figure out how to make this work!

    So disappointed

I signed up for an account with First Tennessee last week and specifically asked if I would have access to mobile deposits, as this was one of the main criteria I was looking for in a bank. I was told by the representative that I would have access to mobile deposits as a part of my account. She said that all I had to do was call their 1-800 number to be eligible. I called last week, and was told that normally you have to wait a year before you're eligible, but they were changing their policy, and I should have access by Monday. I called back today to check up on it, and the representative said that I would not be eligible until I had been a member for a year and direct deposited over $500 each month. I am getting extremely frustrated with the mixed information I am getting here, and will be finding another bank that is up front about their requirements.

    Hate the limit

I am so tired of the limit on the amount deposited. It went up at one point but they have now taken it back down. So stupid to be penalized because my husband makes more than is allowed. Waste of time even having this option!!

Response from First Tennessee BankJune 11 ,2014
Stephanie, we are sorry for the inconvenience. We have improvements to mobile deposit that will be introduced soon. These enhancements will make mobile deposit friendlier and easier to use.
